Many sacred places in the world are located in isolated places. To go on a pilgrimage to visit these places involves effort, time and commitment. It is a common idea that we have to go somewhere special to find God, even when we know we can access the Divine through meditation or prayer here where we live. Perhaps a pilgrimage reminds us of the special effort required to step away from the mundane, ordinary and routine of our daily lives to reach the sacred. Today let me take a few moments to touch the sacred with my mind.
