In some situations it is better for me to hold my tongue and restrain myself from speaking. Although not commenting, I may still have negative thoughts racing through my mind. Over time, I learn to stop my thoughts long enough to redirect my mental energy onto a more positive track. It is almost impossible to redirect my thinking without learning to stop first. As I practice stopping, I notice how little need there is to say anything. Slowly, I mature in my ability to be present without commenting. Today let me mature my capacity to put a full stop to unnecessary thinking.
